Running a local RSE call for proposals

In this talk we present a call for proposals at the University of Sheffield aimed at broadening engagement across disciplines. Run in collaboration with our colleagues in the Data Analytics team it provided research active staff with access to up to six months of RSE expertise. The call launched in 2024 and ran again in 2025.

We describe the structure of the call, its target audience, application content and selection process and criteria. Data from the two calls will be presented alongside an assessment of their outcome and a discussion of the lessons learned from their implementation.
